2021 Edgar Award Winners

The 75th anniversary of the Edgar Awards was celebrated with the announcement of the 2021 Edgar Award winners today.

The awards are given by the Mystery Writers of America (MWA).

The following awards were previously announced:

Raven Award

This is given to non-writers who have contributed to the mystery genre. This year it was given to Malice Domestic, a mystery conference, founded in 1989 and held every spring since.

Grand Master Award

This is the highest honor bestowed by the MWA and recognizes a lifetime of achievement and consistent quality. The first recipient was Agatha  Christie. This year’s recipients are Jeffrey Deaver and Charlaine Harris.

Ellery Queen Award

Reagan Arthur, Publisher, Alfred A. Knopf

About the MWA

The MWA was founded in 1945 by Clayton Rawson, a mystery writer and editor and amateur magician; Anthony Boucher, an author, editor and critic who write several classic mysteries; Lawrence Treat, a lawyer who pioneered the genre of police procedurals; and Brett Halliday, a mystery and western writer.
